Italian Sub Sliders

Italian Sub Sliders

This recipe reminds me of the viral grinder salad subs in a smaller hand held version. These little sliders are perfect as an appetizer for any party, a quick and easy dinner, or you can bake them up - keep the salad topping in a separate bowl - and head out for a fun picnic with all the work already done.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Slice the rolls in half (it's easiest to cut them as one large roll) then lay both sides of the rolls on a large baking sheet.

On the bottom of the rolls add the deli ham and as much salami and provolone as you’d like. Brush the tops of the buns with the melted butter (you can even brush a little butter on the cheese for the inside of the sandwiches, too). Season the top of the buns with pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning then bake for 10 minutes.

  2. Step 2

While the sliders are baking (or even earlier in the day), make the lettuce topping. In a bowl combine the shredded lettuce, red onion, mayo, and as much red wine vinegar as you like. Season generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

  3. Step 3

Allow the sliders to cool about 10 minutes, then top with the lettuce, add a top bun and serve!

Note

I came across this recipe from A Seasoned Greeting online one day I knew we had to give it a try. It's very customizable, just switch out any meats, cheeses, seasonings, and toppings your heart desires. You might just create your family's new favorite go to sammie!
