White Beans in the Crockpot
Nothing says home cooking like a crockpot full of white beans, eat them first as a main dish then use them as a side dish another night of the week. They're super budget friendly even if they don't pull double duty for you!

Step 1
Look thru the dried beans for any bad beans or little rocks, discard them and wash the dried beans thoroughly.
Place clean beans in the crock pot, cover with water, season with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Add some leftover ham if you have it, if not just use a large spoonful of Crisco or drizzle of oil to season up the beans.
Cover and cook on high for about 4 hours.
Note
Of course we love to serve ours over cornbread and they're especially delicious along side of Mary's Meatloaf.
