Slow Cooker Copycat Honey Baked Ham

Slow Cooker Copycat Honey Baked Ham

This recipe and technique is the closest I've found to the delicious ham from the Honey Baked Ham store, without the high price. And you can even do most of the cooking in the crockpot, too.

Ingredients

Glaze

Instructions

  1. Step 1

Place ham in a 7qt slow cooker and pour the water around it. Brush ham with 1/2 cup honey. Cook on low until a thermometer reads 140° that usually take about 4-5 hours.

  2. Step 2

Preheat broiler. Combine glaze ingredients. Transfer ham to a rack in a shallow roasting pan, cut side down. Brush with remaining 1/4 cup honey; sprinkle with glaze mixture, pressing to adhere. Broil 6-8 in. from heat until lightly browned and sugar is melted, 3-5 minutes, rotating as needed. Cover with foil; let stand until glaze hardens, about 30 minutes.

Note

I found this recipe from Taste of Home and have adapted it using the spices that I normally have on hand at all times. And if you watch the video the ham I used was quite a bit smaller than the recipe calls for and I accounted for that and I didn't even bother pulling out my crockpot for the little ham either, I just warmed it in the oven.
