Slow Cooker Cherry 7UP Dump Cake

Slow Cooker Cherry 7UP Dump Cake

I was intrigued to say the least when I first came across this recipe, the ingredients and the crockpot, just all of it. But I knew I had to try it and boy am I glad I did! This little spoon cake has the best flavor, it's the perfect little dessert for summer when all the kids are here and we're grilling. It's a light, sweet, fruity flavor and it can cook while we're visiting and eating without heating up the entire kitchen since it doesn't use the oven!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Step 1

Spray the inside of a 4-5 quart slow cooker with nonstick spray and empty the entire cake mix into the bottom of the crockpot.

Pour in the 7UP. Stir to combine with the cake mix.

  2. Step 2

Dribble in a spoonful of maraschino cherry juice. Swirl around the top of the cake mix with a spoon and drop-in as many maraschino cherries as you like.

Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 1/2 hours. Check cake for doneness with a toothpick. If the cake is not done, continue to cook in 15-minute intervals until it is.

  3. Step 3

    For the glaze:

In a small bowl stir together powdered sugar, 7UP, and cherry juice. You can pour it over the cake right in the crockpot when it's done or you can drizzle it over each serving individually. Or you can do like me and make a little extra and do both!

Note

Thanks so much Growing Up Gabel for this unique and yummy little dump and go dessert! I used regular 7UP but now I'm thinking I might try it with Cherry 7UP next time, maybe too much... My family loved this and I think yours will, too friend!
