Sloppy Joes
Sloppy Joes are a classic weeknight favorite around my house and I love the rich deep flavor from the tomato paste and the sweetness that the brown sugar adds to this version that is my family's all time favorite. Make a double batch and freeze some for later and get creative with your leftovers. I love using Sloppy Joe meat as a topping for baked potatoes or as a filling for my loaded tater tot skillet, you can even grab a box of Jiffy Muffin Mix and make a casserole style bake.

Step 1
In a large skillet over medium high heat cook the ground beef until brown and drain most of the fat. Then add the onion, green bell pepper, and garlic. Cook for a few minutes, or until the vegetables begin soften.
Add the ketchup, brown sugar, chili powder, dry mustard, red pepper flakes, and water. Stir to combine and simmer for 15-20 minutes, adding salt and pepper to taste. Also add the tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Give it a little taste and adjust the seasonings to your liking.
Spread a little butter on your buns and toast em up then heap a generous serving of this delicious Sloppy Joes meat on top. I love to serve these with fries, especially curly ones and pickles on the side.
