Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with non stick spray.

In a medium sized bowl combine the Bisquick, milk, egg, and half the black pepper. Then transfer the Bisquick mixture into your prepared baking dish and set it aside.
  2. Step 2
In a large skillet over medium-high heat cook the beef until its browned and drain off excess grease. Then add the onions and bell peppers and cook for another 5 minutes or until the vegetables have softened. Add in the garlic in the last couple minutes and allow it to become fragrant.
  3. Step 3
Next add the brown gravy mix, water, and the remaining half of the black pepper into the beef mixture in the skillet and let it simmer for about 4 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced.

Then layer the beef mixture over the Bisquick layer in the baking dish and cover with the slices of provolone cheese.

Bake the casserole for about 20-30 minutes or until the cheese is browned and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the Bisquick layer. If the cheese is browning too quickly, cover the dish with aluminum foil while baking.

Let the casserole set up and cool about 10 minutes before serving.

Note

This is the first recipe that I've tried from the website That Oven Feelin and my family loved it, so I can't wait to try more!
