Mary’s Meatloaf
I've tried a lot of meatloaf recipes over the years and some of them were pretty good, but I've never had one that can hold a candle to my love for Mary's. The recipe is surprisingly simple and made with basic pantry staples, but whatever you do - don't sub anything else like bread or crackers in place of the quick cooking oats. The oats give it the most moist and tender texture that nothing else can accomplish. And this sauce just can't be topped, LOL (see what I did there)! It's the perfect combo of savory and sweet! My good friend Mary shared this recipe with me when I was a brand new bride over 30 years ago. She knew I needed some easy wins in the kitchen and she was always there in EVERY way with her tried and true recipes and Godly wisdom and advice. I think of her with love every time I make her meatloaf.
