Marinated Freddie Krueger Hot Dogs
My family loves this savory and slightly sweet sauce combination that I use to marinate their hot dogs. You can let them sit overnight or cook em up in as little as 20 minutes, and I highly recommend cutting the dogs criss cross style so all that goodness can get down inside them. You can grill them up or I love pan frying them in a skillet to give them a crispy crust, all the cuts you made will just pop open as you're cooking the dogs. And... you'll just have to watch the video to see how these dogs got their funny name!

Instructions

Step 1
Place each dog between the round handle part of a wooden spoon, the spoons will serve as a cutting guide so you don't cut all the way through the dogs. With a sharp knife, make cuts at an angle then make cuts crossing over those all the way down the dog, cutting part way into the hot dog. It should look like criss crosses (see the video) -
Step 2
Mix together the chili sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour into a large ziplock bag, add hot dogs and let marinate for 15-20 minutes up to overnight. -
Step 3
Grill the hot dogs until nicely charred and the cuts open up, about 4-5 minutes total. Or you can cook them up in a skillet on top of the stove.
Note
This is another great meal idea from Plain Chicken, I've tried lots of their recipes and never had once my family didn't love yet!
