Aunt Colette’s Kraut Salad

Oh friends, you have got to make this kraut salad ASAP! My aunt Colette brought it to Easter dinner and we just can't get enough of it. It's inexpensive and easy to make with simple, easy to find ingredients, perfect for all the summer picnics! And it tastes great with a plate of pinto beans and cornbread!

28 ounces jar of shredded kraut (This is the big jar that is usually 28-32 ounces)
1 large green bell pepper diced
1 medium onion diced
1 cup diced celery
1 cup sugar
¹⁄₄ cup oil
¹⁄₄ cup apple cider vinegar

Instructions

Step 1

Mix everything together in a large bowl, refrigerate for a couple hours or overnight. We pour off most of the liquid before serving.
