Hamburger Supreme Casserole

You're going to love this hearty, cozy casserole with it's savory seasoned ground beef and pasta mixed with a creamy, cheesy sauce and a pop of sweetness from the diced tomatoes. This is NOT a homemade hamburger helper! This is your new go to quick and easy weeknight ground beef favorite! Your family will devour this and if you're lucky you might have one serving left for your lunch the next day!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente, drain and set aside.
  1. Step 2
In a large skillet over medium heat crumble and cook the ground beef and onions until the meat is browned and the onions are soft. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute. Drain excess grease from the skillet. Then season the meat with the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Now add the drained diced tomatoes to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine and then remove from heat.
  1. Step 3
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until smooth.
  1. Step 4
In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread half of the cooked noodles in an even layer.
Top with half of the ground beef mixture, followed by half of the creamy sauce.
Sprinkle with 3/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
Repeat the layers with the remaining noodles, beef mixture, creamy sauce, and cheddar cheese.
Finish by sprinkling the grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.
Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.

Note

The inspiration for this dish came from For Recipes and I just made a few small tweaks to suit my family's tastes. This was the first of their recipes I've tried and I have to say that I will be checking out more from them.
