Easy & Delicious Classic Lasagna

This is such a delicious lasagna and the recipe is SO simple - simple ingredients and preparation! I've tried numerous different lasagna recipes over the years and while they have been good my family always says it doesn't hold a candle to this old easy classic that they love. Why mess with success, right!

  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    In a large skillet cook ground beef and onion until brown and drain off fat, then add in garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in spaghetti sauce and fill the jar with water and shake it around to get the rest of the sauce out of the jar. Let the sauce simmer a few minutes while you prepare the cheese mixture.

  2. Step 2

    In a medium bowl mix together the ricotta or cottage cheese, 1 ½ cups mozzarella, parmesan, egg and Italian seasoning and set aside.

  3. Step 3

    Spray a 9 x 13 deep baking dish with nonstick spray. Spoon 1 cup of meat sauce into the dish, top with layer of noodles, spread half of cheese mixture over noodles. Then spread half of remaining meat sauce, another layer of noodles, then the rest of the cheese mixture, and finally the remaining meat sauce. Top with remaining shredded mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil and bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes, uncover and let the top brown.
