Churros

These are by no means authentic but they are delicious and easy to make! My family goes wild over them every time I fry up a batch, and they love to dip them in a little dark chocolate sauce, too!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish combine sugar and cinnamon, set aside.
  2. Lightly flour a cutting board and lay out your pastry sheet, cut into strips long ways, then cut in half down the middle.
  3. In a heavy sauce pan, heat about 1 1/2 inches deep of cooking oil to 400 degrees.
  4. Carefully add about 3 strips of pastry dough at a time, cooking them until golden brown. They cook very quickly in about 2-3 minutes, you will need to turn them often to brown on each side.
  5. Remove to a paper towel lined pan to drain and cool, then toss in cinnamon sugar and enjoy!
