Better Than A Mexican Restaurant Cheese Dip

This cheesy dip is the ultimate crowd-pleaser for your next holiday gathering, tailgating party, or just because! This creamy, rich dip combines the delightful flavors of Velveeta, cheddar, and cream cheese with zesty tomatoes and jalapeños; then our favorite Tex Mex seasonings do all the heavy lifting. Perfect for serving with tortilla chips, it’s a delicious addition to game nights, parties, or cozy evenings at home, and my family always says, "This is better than the cheese dip from the Mexican restaurant," hence the name. Plus it's easy to make and customize, this dip will have everyone coming back for more!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the Velveeta cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream and stir continuously until the cheeses are melted and smooth.
  2. Then add the shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture, continuing to stir until fully melted and incorporated.
  3. Fold in the drained diced tomatoes with green chilies, chopped green onions, and diced jalapeños stirring to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  4. Season with the garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well and let the dip heat through for about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and transfer the cheese dip to a serving bowl. Serve warm with tortilla chips for dipping.

Note

You can place this in a small crockpot set on keep warm to keep it hot while serving. And you can make this in the crockpot as well by just melting the cheeses on low heat in the crockpot, then stirring in the rest of the ingredients. Let it set on low for about 15 minutes, then change it over to keep warm for serving.
